Knit Counter Lite Reviewed on Lime & Violet

My girlfriend the knitter, brought this to my attention: Knit Counter Lite review on Lime & Violet. Thanks to Erin for the review.

ConvertKnit available on the iPhone app store

ConvertKnit is now available for purchase on the App Store. Strangely enough I haven’t received confirmation of this from Apple, so for all I know it’s been available for the past week. Click here to go directly to its App Store page.

ConvertKnit submitted to Apple

I’ve submitted my second (and probably final) iPhone knitting app to Apple for sale on the App Store. It’s called ConvertKnit and you can find out more about it here. Basically it’s another app written for my girlfriend and it brings together all of the knitting-related conversion tasks that are of use to her.

Summarised, the app converts between needle sizes; acts as a needle gauge; converts between yarn weights; and performs a handful of basic unit conversions. It’s priced at AU$1.19 which is equivalent to US$0.99, €0.79, £0.59 and ¥115.

Next up I’ll be working on an update to Knit Counter. I have a couple of ideas for things I’d like to add in the new version, but please feel free to email any suggestions, feature requests and bug reports to me at support@cordlessdog.com.

Knit Counter released

So Knit Counter and Knit Counter Lite were approved by Apple and made it to the App Store on the 7th of April (Australian Time). Huge thanks to all who have downloaded it since then. This is the first time I’ve ever had anyone other than friends and family using something I’ve written so it’s all very exciting, but slightly frightening at the same time.

If I’m honest, far more people have downloaded Knit Counter in its first two days than I expected would, and this has only served to accentuate the shortfalls of this web site in its current state. Most sorely lacking is any sort of documentation for Knit Counter. Be assured that I’m currently working feverishly on documenting every conceivable aspect of the program: writing dot points, taking screen shots and so forth.

It’s all work I should’ve had completed before I even submitted Knit Counter to Apple, but I thought I’d be clever and use the one week turnaround on submissions as a deadline to motivate me to get the work done. I think the results speak for themselves.

So in conclusion, the current state of documentation is: “Will be up tomorrow”. But of course in the mean time, if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions; if you can’t figure out how to do something or if something broke, please let me know via email at support@cordlessdog.com.
