Knit Counter 1.1 Submitted to Apple

Knit Counter, and Knit Counter Lite 1.1 are now available on the App Store. It is, of course, a free upgrade.

As previously mentioned, Knit Counter 1.1 requires iPhone/iPod OS 3.0. If you haven’t upgraded to it, you’ll be able to continue to use Knit Counter and Knit Counter Lite 1.0, though I really do recommend upgrading to OS 3.0, it’s great.

I’ll repeat the list of changes and new features in Knit Counter 1.1 just for convenience. I’ve updated the documentation to cover the changes.

  • New and improved method for setting up increase/decrease markers and linked counters.
  • Added a “general” alert to compliment the existing increase and decrease alerts. Useful for cable rows, button holes or anything else that isn’t an increase or a decrease.
  • It’s now possible to add multiples of the same field to the Info screen. Useful for projects that need more than one type of yarn or set of needles.
  • Added a setting for disabling the iPhone/iPod touch’s sleep timer. When enabled the screen will remain on permanently while Knit Counter is running.
  • Added a setting for frog-button lock mode. When enabled, a single tap of the frog button enables frogging, a second tap disables it again. Makes it easier to use Knit Counter one-handed.
  • Added a setting for enabling sounds when incrementing/frogging counters.
  • Added a setting for enabling sounds when alert rows are reached. Provides an additional, audible cue that something important needs to be done on the current row.
  • A handful of minor bug fixes.

Apologies if your pet feature request didn’t make it into 1.1; please keep the feedback and suggestions rolling in. I do keep track of all feature requests and chances are, if I can add something without upsetting Knit Counter’s interface, I will. As always, my email address is support@cordlessdog.com.
