Knit Counter 1.1.1 submitted to Apple

I received my first bug report for Knit Counter today. At first I was worried that I’d missed something in the testing for Knit Counter 1.1 but I very quickly realised that the bug was present in the original 1.0 version too. The reason it hadn’t been noticed until now is that it only manifests itself on iPhone OS 3.1.

The bug itself is minor, though very annoying. It basically makes it all but impossible to edit project names, counter names and info fields, as the keyboard disappears after each key press and can only be brought back by hitting Save and then opening the editor again. This means that while it is still possible to edit names and fields, you have to do it one character at a time which is obviously a very slow and irritating process.

I’ve submitted Knit Counter and Knit Counter Lite 1.1.1 to Apple; version 1.1.1 contains a fix for this bug and nothing more. Unfortunately if the last release was anything to go by, it’ll be a full two weeks before 1.1.1 is available for download. If you think this is bug going to be a major problem for you, my advice is to hold off on updating to iPhone OS 3.1 until Knit Counter 1.1.1 is available. Of course if you’ve already updated to OS 3.1 this advice is of no use to you at all, so all I can do is offer my sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused.
